Fire!


I'm now returning to the game's weapon implementation! On this occasion, I'd like to clarify some key aspects of weapon performance. It's probably no secret that I've borrowed heavily from ULTRAKILL, and shooting is no exception: every gun in the game has a primary and secondary firing mode. However, there's a difference: the primary firing mode doesn't require any resources and is "free," while the secondary firing mode uses a universal resource shared by all guns, which can be looted from crates and tanks throughout the map.

I like the idea of "free" shooting because it allows you to focus on dynamic gameplay rather than searching for and conserving ammo. This is evident in ULTRAKILL. However, I want to create motivation for exploration, and I feel that first aid kits aren't enough for this purpose.


There are currently four weapons planned for the game:

  • Rocket Launcher
  • Shotgun
  • Rifle
  • Pistol


You can see all of these weapons listed in the screenshot, from left to right.

I'm writing this post to ask you what alternative firing modes you'd like to see in the game. I already have an idea for each weapon, but yours might be better—share your thoughts, and maybe yours will be implemented!
